Using Verity
Terms of Service
These terms govern a merchant’s use of Verity, a Shopify app for collecting, moderating, publishing, and measuring verified buyer video reviews.
The service
Verity connects fulfilled Shopify orders to secure buyer invitations. Participating buyers may submit a video, rating, written review, and display consent. Merchants decide which submissions to approve, publish, hide, or remove.
The merchant authorizes Verity to access the minimum Shopify data and permissions shown during installation and to process that data as described in the Privacy Policy.
Merchant responsibilities
The merchant is responsible for its store, products, customer relationship, moderation decisions, and compliance with laws that apply to reviews, endorsements, marketing, accessibility, consumer protection, and privacy.
The merchant must not use Verity to collect or publish unlawful, deceptive, infringing, abusive, or unsafe content, and must not attempt to bypass security, interfere with the service, or use buyer information for unrelated purposes.
Buyer content
Buyers retain ownership of the content they submit. A buyer’s display consent permits the merchant to use an approved submission on the merchant’s storefront through Verity. The merchant must honor withdrawal or deletion requests when required and must not publish a submission without the recorded consent.
The merchant is responsible for reviewing submissions before publication and for handling claims that content violates another person’s rights.
Plans and billing
If a paid plan is selected, charges are presented and approved through Shopify. Plan details, usage allowances, trial terms, and prices shown in the app at the time of approval apply. Shopify manages the billing authorization and may apply its own terms.
A merchant may uninstall Verity to stop future use of the service. Amounts already charged are handled according to the plan terms, applicable law, and Shopify’s billing process.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Verity reliable and secure, but the service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, provider outages, security work, or changes required by Shopify. Features may evolve, and we will avoid materially reducing paid functionality without reasonable notice where practical.
We may suspend access when necessary to protect buyers, merchants, Shopify, or the service, or when use violates these terms.
Disclaimers and liability
Verity provides tools for collecting and presenting customer content; it does not guarantee review volume, authenticity beyond the order-verification signals described in the product, sales, conversion, or other commercial results.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided without implied warranties and Verity is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
